June 2008 : Slowed down by Laos
About this blog
During our last journey in Scotland about 2 months ago, we had actually been planning for this Asian trip.Laos is a country only very recently made popular to Asian travellers, although Westerners have been thronging it for years.We chose this country because we have read so much about its tranquillity and antediluvian civilisation.We want to experience the innocence of the country before all is lost to the inevitable invasion of commercialisation in the name of profit.Our journey through Laos has made us complain less about our lives and realised how lucky we really are.We were deeply troubled by the prevailing poverty of the people in the interior regions and wished we could do more to help.This will be our mission in time to come.
