Backpackingis out so now I'll leave my pack at home!
About this blog
After a two year ban the doctor has given the clearance for me to fly again. Suggestions of a return to South America or New Zealand were quickly declared not practical, the USA would not be insurable and even Asian hospitals might be too expensive should I need a quick refurbishment. So the answer was to take a small test trip to Tenerife where I could test my wearing, aging body and the newly fixed heart with it's additional metal and bovine parts. Backpacking was out after a recent vertebrae fracture so Vera carried my load and we stayed in a small apartment close to the beach. It was not planned as another adventure but as a trial run to prove it was possible- - - it was and to everyone's amusement I still to try and comunicate in any language other than the local one.
