Tunisia is one of Africa's most tourist-friendly destinations. While a Muslim culture, it is the most liberal in the Islamic world (alcohol is allowed here, unlike elsewhere). The country has a modern infrastructure, and first-class hotels, so we won't be roughing it here. We begin in the capital city of Tunis, travel to historic Carthage, the fort of Hammamet, the Roman Amphitheatre at El-Djem, Sfax, Matmata, the island of Jerba for some beach fun, the Sahara Desert, the salt pan Chott El Jerid, and the oasis town of Tozeur before returning to Tunis. This is a full circuit tour of the country, hitting many World Heritage Sites and even some movie locations from the filming of Star Wars. Join us as we sample the best of Tunisia!
