I would like to invite you to follow the gemological expedition I had with my former student Guillaume Soubiraa, Richard W. Hughes and Dana Schorr during summer 2006 to the Kul I Lal spinel mines and Murgap ruby mining area in Pamir mountains of the Badakshan province of Tajikistan.

Our purpose was to explore these ruby and spinel deposits, to get a first hand update about its activity, create local contacts and to collect some scientific samples in order to increase our "Ruby Origin Determination" capacities...
