In September of 2001, we ended three years of boat preparation and took the plunge. We sailed off in the SV Finisterra from Vancouver on an open-ended sailing adventure, exploring the globe.

Yearly, we are reminded of the beginning of our Change of Course adventure with the events of 9-11. Anchored outside Victoria on 9-11-01 we got a call telling us to turn on the TV. Amazingly we got reception. To our horror we looked on as planes crashed into the World Trade Centre. We wondered where in the world are we safe? People say, "but you could sink out there in the ocean", and we say but you are more likely to get hit by a car while crossing the road. Friends have died of cancer while waiting to retire and live their dreams. We need to feel content with our lives and accept what is. We need to be prepared to meet our maker no matter where we are or what we are doing. We can only live one day at a time. We ARE dream living
