Cruising the Mediterranean

About this blog

After a week together at a bed and breakfast north of Rome (see Carol, Wendy Michelle and I were off for a second week together, this time aboard the Navigator of the Sea. Itinerary included the following ports:

Civitavecchia (basically the port for Rome) ; Messina, Sicily; Athens Greece; Ephesus Turkey; Crete, Greece; and back to CV

Wendy was the only one with past cruising experience, although it seems with a different cruise line and different ship everything can be quite different. It didn't help that the travel agent who we booked our cruise was brand new.. ie this was the FIRST cruise she had EVER booked. So we all fumbled our way around together to figure things out. But we made it to the gate on time for boarding, and although we may have gone up instead of down and aft vs stern a few times more than I care to admit on board, no one got left at a port, and we managed to keep ourselves fed and entertained, with no major faux pas (at least not that we are aware of) so something to be said for that. Im not sure crusing is my thing, but it was fun for the 4 of us to hang out, particpate on the on board activities and off board excursions, meet some new people, and enjoy the sun and sights.

PS This blog was writen with a very faded memory and with less time to reread the entries. and sort through pictures than prior please take that into consideration when you come across what Im sure will be numerous typos etc. .. but hey... it is done!
