Slovenia (5 days)
About this blog
Very small country packed with worthwhile, impressive sights, with the western half being a mix of mountains, lakes, caves, castles and formerly-Italian coastline.
The most awesome super huge caves yet, a great drive of 50 switchbacks up and down a super-scenic pass through the Julian Alps (as in Caesar), the huge and crazy Alp-top battle of WW1 that I never heard of before (youngsters Ernest Hemingway and Irwin Rommel both showed up), and the most difficult to pronounce capital city in out there, Ljubljana. (Say Lyoo-blyee-AH-nah, fast!)
