About this blog

In late 2002 I received tenure as an associate professor of management information systems. It had been way toooo long since I'd traveled. So I decided to plan a trip to somewhere different, somewhere exotic, somewhere off the beaten track, somewhere there would be an epidemic (okay, I didn't plan the SARS part). It was one of the best decisions of my life. I fell in love with foreign travel all over again, discovered I could travel by myself, and found out how rewarding travel in the developing world can be.

Here's the story (as reconstructed from e-mails sent along the road) of my travels around Vietnam and Cambodia in the Summer of 2003.
