Davai, a new program to take global Russian Jews in their 20s to various Jewish places around the world, asked me to be their educational consultant six months ago. The organizers selected Spain as the first site for this new alternative form of Jewish identity travel. Our trip is intense--one to two cities every day--with learning modules on medieval Jewish philosophy, Kabbalah and mysticism, the diversity of Jewish identity, and Jewish life in Spain today.
