About this blog

My Indian born Bengali Brahmin father who left India because of many reasons most of which were because he was NON conformist found his perfect home in NON Comformist Montreal. Never loosing his identity but always a Montrealer... he was a great great writer and most of all story teller. In Septembrer 2004 he had a stroke and lost his ability to speak... He spoke 15 languages, a gifted teacher, author, story teller.... I realised that after his stroke I had to be the keeper of not only my family history, traditions but also I had to rediscover India. This is not my first trip to India I have been several times and last March 2010 I was there again for work and to work on the family tree my father started. Thanks to the help of my closest uncle to us and closest brother to my father...Two of my father's books where published with all proceeds going to a school fund started by my uncle in the name of my father. Thanks to my uncle he showed me all of the places where my father worked and studied. This trip to India will include very special stroies, music, recipes, legends from my own family. Also my love for dance, music, food, art as viewed by a half Bengali Montrealer... Hope you all enjoy the blog Ruby Roy
