My year as a mountain pilot for RNAC flying a Pilatus Porter in the Himalayas and pahad of Nepal. Great memories. Some good photos.
About this blog
Originally I went to Nepal as a USA Peace Corps Volunteer. I taught Math at the Pokhara Campus of Tribuvan University. But the students went on long term strike and my program was cancelled.
I was able to land a job as a Captain with Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation flying the single engine Swiss made STOL Pilatus Porter powered by the excellent Canadian PT-6 turboprop engine.
As my photos will suggest there was great beauty to be witnessed. There were also some adrenaline rushes. It was an awesome experience but at the end of a year I opted not to renew my contract.
