About this blog

We flew to Rome and met up with about a dozen friends. We'd hired a medieval-keep-turned-villa in rural Lazio, about a two hour drive from Rome. WE had a week there, eating, drinking, swimming in hot pools and generally relaxing. We had hired three cars so we went on several day trips, including a visit to Umbrian town Orvieto, which was beautiful. We then drove back to Rome and spent three days exploring the city.
