November 2007 to April 2008, from Vancouver to San Diego, Ruah Swennerfelt and Louis Cox walk, in the style of John Woolman, to talk with Quakers about integrating peace, justice, and Earthcare.
About this blog
We will set out on a journey by foot, visiting Friends Meetings and churches from Vancouver, British Columbia, to San Diego, California, beginning November 2007 and ending April 2008. We also are inviting Friends to walk with us. Inspired by the traveling ministry of 18th century Quaker John Woolman, we are calling our pilgrimage The Peace for Earth Walk: Rediscovering John Woolman's Message for the 21st Century. We believe that living with integrity and right relationship is vital to the world today. Although Woolman is most remembered for his tireless witness against slavery, he also preached that war and injustice are rooted in over-consumption and oppression, which are signs that people are disconnected from the Spirit
