North To Alaska, the adventures of one family in a small native village above the Arctic Circle.
About this blog
The Tucker family set off September 17 on an adventure that few get to experience. Me my husband and 4 kids made a hasty decision to relocate to Alaska. Hubby and I were both offered jobs with school districts in Barrow (farthest North you can go) Bethel( home of the Camai Dance Festival), and Arctic Village (an Athabascan Indian village). I am a teacher and my husband is a computer technician. We accepted the position in Arctic Village Alaska. This is an isolated Village, home to the Gwich'in Tribe. We are surrounded by the Brooks Range and the Chandalar River. The scenery is gorgeous. We are only accesible by air. There are no roads in or out. We will experience the harsh winters, Northern Lights, native customs, and wild animals.
