Keeping a blog during my upcoming trip to Turkey will be an experiment for me, since it is the first time that I've combined technology with travel.

In travels past, during which I've tried and tried to keep a travel journal, I've run out of steam after Day 3 or 4, and the trail ends there. I'm hoping that being able to type and save my thoughts and observations with the help of a 9-inch, battery-operated laptop will make it easier to record my experiences as I'm having them. If I find, however, that I'm spending more time documenting the trip than experiencing it, the trail will end again.

We shall see...
