Before I begin, I'd like to explain the identity behind this blog: Faerethiel, the Maverick Ranger. "Ranger" comes from The Lord of the Rings. For a self-proclaimed adventurer, I thought the Rangers were a good example to live up to. "Maverick" comes from my idea of a lone Ranger who lives by his/her own rules.

The Elvish name Faerethiel translates to "lonely spirit". It was inspired by Percy Shelley's "Alastor" in which a poet embarks on a search for "strange truths in undiscovered lands." I believe that every trip I embark on is just part of a bigger journey to find my identity, the journey known as life.

Thus begins my first adventure. It's the first time I'm away from home and travelling alone.
