ASIA and AFRICA: From Turkey to India, plus sub-Saharan Africa

Trips covering over thirty years of travel from the time of the Shah to the age of the internet. Travel from the Turkey of Midnight Express, through the days of the Islamic Revolution in Iran; from the annual Buzkashi tournament held in the National Stadium in Kabul, before the Taliban used it for public executions; in Pakistan travel through the land of the Kafir Kalash (the black unbelievers) and by bicycle down the Karakoram Highway from the Chinese border to Gilgit. Travel to ancient Leh in Ladakh, India, crossroads of the ancient caravan routes from China.
