The West Coast Trail. After 8 or so years of talking about it but never really having the opportunity. I along with some great pals, got the freedom to experience the world famous West Coast Trail.

About this blog

The West Coast Trail has a lot of interesting history. In the early 1900's the trail itself was used as a refuge path for shipwrecked people stranded on the desolate beaches of the island coast. Mostly due to the fog, the ships navigation systems were not advanced enough to penetrate nor discern where land was. Many ships crashed.

The surviving passengers and crew could not penetrate the dense forest and treacherous topography by foot and therefore "the trail" was built in order to help those people reach safety.

Interesting? i thought so. Today, the trail is mostly used for adventurers, trekkers and the like who want to see and experience some of that nearly untouched landscape. And hey, we like the challenge.
