Sakura Hanami 2010!

About this blog

This is one trip that I've been wanting to undertake for quite a long while. Though my main goal is to take in the sight of the cherry blossom trees as they go through their flowering season, I have always wanted to revisit Japan since making my maiden journey back in 2005.

I wish to explore more of the megacity of Tokyo as well as embark on trips to places I've not yet been to, such as the castle town of Matsumoto, Hakuba's snow slopes as well as Kawaguchiko, a town that is popular with climbers who choose it as the start-off point on their way up this iconic mountain.

It is most fortunate that by comparing yearly average weather information with past cherry blossom seasons, I managed to get quite accurate with my forecast on the likely sakura hanami season for 2010. In fact my girlfriend & I had went ahead with the purchase of our air tickets back in Dec 2009, placing our bets on those guesswork! =D

Hope you enjoy reading my travel blog & that it will be useful in the planning of your own future journeys in the Land of the Rising Sun!
