In a moment of restlessness, Debbie and I got to talking about our dreams of traveling through Asia. Realising that there was a window of opportunity that suited both of us in mid-2008, we wasted no time in making a decision to go!

The next question - where? Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos... so many possibilities - but time was limited.

We had 3 weeks or so to play with so we decided to focus on Thailand with a quick side trip to Cambodia. After many hours of trolling the internet, studying maps and reading Lonely Planet, we came up with an itinerary. But we couldn't fit it all into 3 weeks - and gradually the trip was extended to 6.
