Joshua Tree in January, scorching hot.

After backpacking through forests and along beaches, it was time for my friend and I to hit the desert. We figured Joshua Tree would be an ideal destination in January since it's incredibly uncomfortable to visit the park during the summer.
We were wrong. During the trip, we got hit by a heat wave with temperatures reaching 90 degrees. We still had a lot of fun.
