About this blog

Hello hello! Well here I go again>>>

This time, it's 4 months in South Africa!

What brings me here you ask? A study abroad program with SIT Study Abroad called Multiculturalism and Human Rights :)

After 4 years traveling throughout Latin America, I'm interested in seeing what "development" looks like in other parts of the world, as well as learn more about the intersection of development and human rights. AND what better place to do it than South Africa?

Join me as I travel, learn, and experience a country in an entirely new continent>>>

>> > Our program base is Cape Town, one of the first South African cities to voluntarily promote racial integration. We will complete 4 homestays and participate in lectures, discussions, field-based assignments, and excursions. > >>

Where are our homestays? ---3 weeks with Xhosa-speaking families in Langa Township in Cape Town ---1 week with families in the rural Eastern Cape (Tsabo) ---1 week with bilingual Afrikaans- and English-speaking families in Stellenbosch ---1 week with families in a bilingual family in Bo Kaap!

With an itinerary this packed (and with my luck) there's sure to be some interesting stories along the way..... :)

Can't wait to share this adventure with you all!
