Escaping the frigid shores of Lake Michigan, we return for two months of language studies, art, culture and sightseeing in scenic San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico--with side trips galore!
About this blog
The lake has begun to freeze over and the temps are hovering around zero so it is time to head south again. For us, San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico has a lot to offer beyond just a temperate winter temp (70's in daytime and high 40's at night). The setting is a photographers delight with a well preserved centro area dating back to colonial days, plazas and gardens galore, and natural hot springs just on the edge of town. With a well established but "low rise" tourism industry and plenty of second home owners and sun birds, the town can support many cultural and artistic activites as well as good restaurants and gourmet shops and other amenities. So we will be at home in SMA for two months in our little rental home. Stay tuned.
