The Wall and Beyond, of course we saw the 2 Wonders (the wall and the warriors) but what we will remember most are the little things--villagers harvesting rice by hand and a trip to a Wallmart.
About this blog
For two committed independent travelers to sign up for a three week group tour to China was a big step. We had successfully traveled Japan by ourselves and much of Europe and S. America, but China.... Now that we are back we are very glad that we decided to go with Road Scholar, an offshoot of Elderhostel. Not only did they smooth the way with a lot of logistics but their emphasis on in depth educational experiences along the way made for a great trip. Besides all the usual tourist experiences, we had an opportunity to hear lectures by university professors, to see demonstrations of traditonal art and music, to have tai chi lessons each morning and family village visits.
