Singapore - Lion City
About this blog
I brought Jasmine and Jacinda to neighboring Singapore for 3 days from 11-13 Jan 2013. It was their first time visiting this "Fine" city where the authorities impose very strict laws.
1. If you driving into the country, make sure:
-i) you buy the Autopass Card (if you don't have one) at Land Transport Authority (LTA) office after Customs; you need it if you are to drive around the country to pay for tolls and to park in some of their shopping malls. Reloads can be purchased at convenience stores e.g. 7-Eleven
-ii) you buy the Parking coupon if you are parking in their public parking lots. Take note, certain areas require you to display different coupon types e.g. Day and Night Parking where each has different rates. You have to refer to the signboard around the parking area for instructions. Coupons can be purchased at convenience stores e.g. 7-Eleven
-iii) your brand new cigarette pack are already opened. If not, if the Customs searched and found the unopened cigarette pack in your car, they will confiscate and fine you.
2. To save money, try checking out and buy tickets to theme parks or zoos from budget hostels because they have special rate which is a lot cheaper than if you buy directly at the parks' entrance.
3. Electrical plugs type: 3-pin flat. Bring converter if necessary or if you can ask your hotel if they have the converter before your trip.
