About this blog

There I was, a retired Computer Consultant, about to jump off and take a trip, sola, to Buenos Aires, South America. I had boned up on my Spanish, figured out the clothes to pack for my summer ¨getaway¨, (escaping from Del Rio Tx hot, hot summer), bought my Lonely Planet Guide, bought my 110-220 volt converter, and more. Little did I know that I would extend my ¨summer¨ trip for as long as American Airlines would allow, until May of 2009. What follows is a log of my 90+ bus, boat, train rides (up to date) of almost 11 months. I had originally intended on renting an apt in BsAs, but as my departure date became closer, I decided to start my trip in a hostel, my first ever. And my life morphed from a stay-at-home Senior to a true viaja.
