Ultimate Sports Weekend
About this blog
My friend John Dinsmoor wanted to do something spectacular to cap off his 8-week sabbatical. We talked it over, and we decided that the last scheduled Notre Dame - Michigan game in Ann Arbor would be a great way to cap it off. The plan was to fly into Chicago on Friday, hang out there until it was time to go to Ann Arbor on Saturday, and then fly out of Chicago on Sunday. Simple, right? Then things started to fall into place to create the Ultimate Sports Weekend. A quick check of the Cubs schedule yielded a homestand against the Brewers. A few weeks later, the NFL schedule came out, and lo and behold, the Bears were playing a home game against the Bengals on Sunday. But there seemed to be a hole to fill. What should we do Saturday morning? Another month went by, and Michigan State's game against South Florida changed from TBA to noon. BINGO! Now we were set. Cubs on Friday, Michigan State Saturday morning, Michigan Saturday night, and Bears Sunday afternoon. The Ultimate Sports Weekend.
This blog will be very similar to the one I did on sabbatical last year for the College Football Tour 2012, including ratings for various criteria.
