To Egypt and Jordan - escape cold for warmth in Middle East desert

Grace (my wife) and I need to 'do' Egypt if we are to call ourselves world travelers, so we are off to Jordan and Egypt. Sure - we could just go to Vegas to see a pyramid, maybe there could be a dust storm kick up there, but that wouldn't be the same as true Egyptian sand blown in off the Eastern Desert. We will put our thoughts and impressions down in the coming weeks.
