Helping Malawi's Orphaned Children

I recently returned from a volunteer trip at Open Arms Infant Home in Blantyre, Malawi. It was the most amazing experience of my life! The children in this orphanage are so happy and so well taken care of...They are given a fair chance at life, and they receive the love, care, nutrition, and medical attention that they so desperately need and deserve. While I was volunteering at the home, I played with the children, helped to prepare their meals and feed them, folded never ending piles of laundry, helped clean up in the kitchen after meals, and escorted children to the clinic or the hospital when necessary. I will be heading back there again for 10 weeks, beginning September 22nd, 2008.
