While my father was alive we traveled to Bulgaria often. The single reason was to bring him love, support for his lone days, revive him. He reciprocated magnificently. This time he arranged a holiday.

It is quite normal that a trip to a neighboring country "is not counted" as real travel. One goes shopping to Dusseldorf from Holland every first Saturday. Gevgelija to Salonika, Maastricht to Liege, Geneva to Dijon. Same was for any trip from Skopje to Sofia. But this time my late father (Koco Popov) arranged that we go to Plovdiv and to the Black Sea and then if we wanted (he did not have a passport) to go and see Istanbul.
There is no point separating all of my visits and sojourns in various places around Bulgaria and Turkey: there will be far too many trips. Thus I will put together several along the same route.
Eventually you will not be confused. Most stories will have the original dates clearly shown at the beginning. That is it.
Start of travels: Aug ??, ???? End of travels: Sep ??, ????
