The Canadian selection played in Skopje qualifiers for the World Championship 1970. Yugoslavia, the host, won the event. The Canadians invited Rabotnicki on a promotional tour. I was their guide.

Basketball was a plague then. The Canadian national team had a manager who sensed that the local "Rabotnicki" with three Yugoslav national players in it, may be a fine promotion for the game on a university tour across Canada sponsored by a known garment brand. My friends (mainly Dragoljub -Drazo- Lazov) negotiated, I interpreted, Yugoslavia got the gold, they went, I forgot about them. Then the telex machine begun spewing one after another message. They had arranged everything. The management of Rabotnicki got excited. Numberf of seats were fixed and they figured it out it would be too much to award me a three week tour only for interpreting from stupid English. But I had all the addresses and contacts. Simple. So, here is the travelogue.
