About this blog

The Yugoslav government took great care to offer equal opportunity to all of the constituent members of the federation. This was mirrored in selecting journalists who would accompany officials on important foreign visits. Milos Minic was not only the chief of diplomacy but a deputy prime-minister and, more important, a person who President Tito trusted very much. Thus, my newspaper got an invitation to extend a name of journalist who would cover the trip to Egypt, the Central African Republic, Zaire (now DR Congo) and Guinea on the Atlantic coast. I got the job. We flew on a very comfortable military aircraft with high officers as flight-attendants. Not in my wildest of dreams I imagined this sort of travel existed and I will experiece it
