This trip is my first upon retiring from 28 years of teaching children at Eagleville Elementary Environmental Charter School. The title comes from a conversation that I had with a younger student one day in the school office as I was copying some papers for that day's lessons. He asked if I would be his teacher when he was in to the fifth grade? My reply was that someday I wanted to go look for Polar Bears and that time would be soon...... Well the trip has changed from one of looking for Polar Bears into one of seeing Western Canada and Alaska. We have already seen plenty of Black Bears and a few Grizzlies. I expect to see more as the trip progresses......
