Fall in the Alpine countries is truly a wonderful time, with crimson and gold splashed on the foliage of the Alpine woods. Walking in the forest in the crisp autumn air while following the sound of gurgling brooks flowing into mountain lakes, one could have a grand appreciation of nature's way of winding down. Come join me for a short visit to the economically sophisticated, international city of Zurich. Then we'll take the train to Hallstatt, a quaint lakeside village in Austria, before visiting the fiercely proud German state of Bavaria near the Alps.
