About this blog
I love to climb. Got hooked on it after summiting Mount Kinabalu 2 years ago. If you ask me, it's hard to pin down exactly why I do it. Curious of what's on the peak is the best answer I can offer so far. Either that or the wise-guy version, "because it's there!". Thing is, I'm a hands-on kinda person; reading or listening to what people say about this or that mountain, simply don't cut it for me; I must find out for myself. So, for as long as there are mountains or hilltops I have not been to, and whenever that little voice in me says go for it, you will find me up there sooner or later.
Climbing helps free my mind off of the daily tensions at work, well, momentarily at least. And it is always gratifying to complete each climb, knowing I've gone head-on in the "uphill battle" (in the real sense of the word) and having a sense of relief at making it down to ground zero in one piece. I constantly crave for that "veni, vidi, vici" moment. Heh.
I have done only a few mountains and hills, locally and abroad. And yes, I am gunning for more ... as long as my forty-something year-old legs don't give up on me!
Enough ramblings. See ya at the top!
