Me in Kiwi-land (NEW ZEALAND)
About this blog
I don't usually do this - keep a journal when traveling, I mean, be it abroad or domestic. It's a little different this time around, however. Since I'll be travelling solo, I figured daily jottings on the things I did and saw would be necessary, for 2 reasons basically, one is to help me jog my memory of the little details that might be forgotten in time. Reason number two is, just in case I'm found dead in the middle of nowhere, then at least I'll be remembered in some ways. Heh. I'm no Hemmingway, that's for sure, but then again, one doesn't have to be prolific writer to keep a daily diary, right?
The trip will begin from 10 Feb until the 27th.The plan is to visit my brother and his family who lives in Auckland, and thereon, fly to Christchurch, in the South Island where the 'real' journey begins. From Christchurch, I will work my way up north to Picton by train and then cross the Cook Straits by ferry to Wellington in the North Island. I'll spend a couple of days in Wellington, and then go on another train ride to the National Park for a 19kms tramping on the Tongariro Crossing. After that, I will head back to Auckland and stay there for a few more days before returning home to Malaysia. Sounds like a plan...
This is my journey.
