Down and Back - Memories of Days on the Train in Canada
About this blog
My family comes from a small railroad town in northern Ontario called Sioux Lookout. All my family seemed to be involved with the railway in one form or another. My grandfather Andrew Hartman was a railroad engineer for CN - my uncle Jay played a strong union role in CN Telecommunications and my uncle Bill was a Senior VP for CN and even has his own railcar. My cousins and I even worked for CNR, so travel by train seemed to be part of our DNA. It's been over 40 years since I've travelled the rails so to speak, so I thought it was time to revisit some very strong railway memories on our Down and Back trip from Vancouver to Toronto in November of 2012.
