The largest Buddhist monument in the world is in Java. Borobudur, amongst other sites like Prambanan, Mt.Bromo and the chillout Ku De Ta on the beaches of Bali are highlights for this trip.

Jakarta - a massive urban sprawl A scruffily arranged trip that turned out ok. A lot of decent pictures, good mix of experiences to show for. None of us have had the time to research in any detail for this trip. For me, I was busy clearing work before I head off for 2 weeks, as I had to hand off different parts of my work to different people...well...that's my excuse anyway. The other part of me just can't be bothered about planning for trips these days. I simply get there and then find my way with the Lonely Planet (LP) or simply ask people whom you meet along the way. I had a rough idea though. Arrive in Jakarta, head to Yogya, then make out way down to Bali, stopping somewhere along the way. Sounds simple enough :-)I really wanted to see Borobudur...anything else is a bonus.
