We're off to check out those places with such funny names - Timbuktu (Tombouctou)) in Mali, Ouagadougou in Burkino Faso, then finishing in Ghana.
About this blog
Back in 1976 we drove a clapped-out Citroen 2CV (we bought it for 185 pounds) 33,000 kms all over Europe. At Ouarzazate in Morocco we came across the sign shown in our Welcome photo. Even we realised that our car wouldn't get us to Timbuktu (Tombouctou), which the sign showed as taking 52 days by camel. However, we promised ourselves that we would get there one day. Hopefully, this is the journal of that trip. We also hope to visit Burkina Faso, and finish in Ghana.
