Dave and his friend Steve spent two weeks in Bangkok, two weeks in Northern Thailand including trekking through hill tribe country in the Golden Triangle, and three weeks in Southern Thailand including the gorgeous islands of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. They took the train through the jungles of Malaysia to Singapore and spent three days amazed at a modern Asian city. They then flew to Bali via Jakarta and spent six weeks in a rented house in the midst of rice paddies outside Ubud. Dave became friends with a local Balinese guy named Wayan, attended temple ceremonies, and fell in love with Balinese people, culture, and natural beauty.
