About this blog

We are travelling to and volunteering in different capacities in several countries as we work from Chile to Mexico. We are undertaking this trip for a number of reasons. One is to show South Americans that the United States is populated by people who would rather work alongside them than exploite them. We have both served domestically, and now we are feeling the urge to serve abroad-to take advantage of the opportunities for historical, cultural, and interpersonal exchange that traveling in South America, Central America, and Mexico will afford. We are both considering joining the Peace Corps soon, and this trip feels like a natural extension of what we've been doing through our volunteer work and a logical next step towards Peace Corps.
