Not really a trip (well, not my main objective), but actually a short stint as a pharmaceutical field rep. for J&J in Guatemala. Good job, but hard to stomach.
About this blog
While thousands of Guatemalans dream of and succeed in making it to the US in order to live and work, blind to the sometimes deadly consequences inherent in such a journey, I got it in my head to head south and work in Guatemala slinging pharmaceutical drugs. I got lucky and met a big wig from Colombia at the J&J headquarters in NJ who offered to send me to Guate in order to investigate a job, though I had gone to meet him in hopes of merely getting some advice on future opportunities in the company. This was right after my Peace Corps service, when I didn't even have a pair of slacks to wear to the interview after giving away the bulk of my possessions in Honduras months earlier. Anyway, good job, bad fit...
