Springtime in the south. Conference on Southern Literature, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dogwood blooming, Alabama hills, cherry blossoms in DC, visit Dad and Opal, my brother and my friends, birthday 68!
Written by burtonll
| | | | The perfect time. Spring! Best spent in the south with dogwood trees in bloom. And yes, before it gets too hot to breathe. And this -- the Conference on Southern Literature, in Chattanooga, every other year. But first, to Alabama, visit brother, Dad, and step-mom Opal for a while. Then to the Conference and after that, a visit with my friends I haven't seen in such a long, long while! Palm Sunday church, First-Centenary. See Nancy, Betty, Ed and Dalton too. Breakfast at Karls! A Kopper Kettle lunch. What has happened, what is new? My birthday, celebrate it here.
Then north, the Shenandoah Drive, to Charlottesville, and Washington DC. Easter at the National Cathedral, I have my pass. National Geographic? A Cherry Blossom tour? You bet.
