Chattanooga Great Places, by Linda L Burton. After you've seen the Choo Choo, then what? In 1993 I went to buy a guidebook so I'd know where to take my grandkids, and there wasn't one. So, I wrote it.
About this blog
The first trip I recall as a kid was to Chattanooga with a ride on the Incline and stops at Rock City and Ruby Falls. I moved to Chattanooga when my three sons were small; they grew up here. We played at Lake Winnie, flew kites by the dam, and picnicked at Pops in the Park. I taught at UTC and owned a business that had me writing about Chattanooga from a corporate view.
Somewhere along the way I traveled to all 50 states, most National Parks, and wound up at the University of Washington in Seattle.
When I returned to Chattanooga in 1993, I was wowed! I went to the store to buy a book about all the new stuff I could do with my grandkids, and there wasn't one, so I decided to write it.
It was a labor of love. Excerpts follow.
