The train! Follow the rails, clickety-clack, clickety-clack, Andrew, where do you want to go? Over the river? Through the woods? From Grandmother's house we go. Into the night, Montana straight ahead.
About this blog
Amtrak. The Empire Builder, Seattle to Chicago, two days for the trip. We've only got a weekend. How far can we go? Glacier National Park, that's where. All aboard, Montana bound, time enough to eat and sleep, time enough to ride along the coast, climb the Cascade Mountains pass, cross the borders of two states, there's Idaho, Montana next, here we are, the Rocky Mountains now. Climb down, breathe the frosty morning air. Whitefish, Montana, now there's a way to start the day. Continental Divide. Horseback riding on a ranch. The hockey rink. And riding home, no sleeper car this time, just tuck into your seat, and snooze. Eggs in the dining car? Eat fast, we're almost home again.
