62 Miles of October. Walking my way back to health and happy, soaking up autumn's glory, Seattle's ever-changing scenes. Slow walk and look at everything around. So much to see, and good to be alive.

About this blog

October is a month for walking, anyhow. From the Center of the Universe - right HERE I am - I vowed to walk at least a mile towards any point. And then, walk back. Two miles a day, rain or shine.

It had been a brutal year, so far. Breast cancer, surgery, radiation that burned right through my hide on its way to what may (or may not) lurk within. My Mom died, two days after my last radiation zap. I was too weak to cry.

Summer was better, some strength regained. Then BAM Sunday afternoon pain and a ride in an aid car to the hospital, fast. A hernia! Not fatal. Fix it and go home.

October. I vowed to walk. A telling journey, this, pushing out beyond my bounds. I can do it, I promised the wall. 62 miles of October. It brought me back.
