CAMBODIA - Angkor (Siem Reap)

Even before I had undertaken my mid-year 3 week trip to Indonesia, I had already booked my end of year trip to this year's tourist hot spot - Myanmar or what was known and some like me still call it Burma.

With the country only last year just opening its borders to tourists again, this is where tourists are now flocking or heading to in their droves on what ever trips that the tour companies can organise. I already heard that the hotel prices have escalated in the last few months yet the facilities and service remained the same.

My brother Tim from London joins me on this 21 day Explore trip "Burma In Depth" (BUI).

But first, do I or do I not first make a short 4 day stop-over in Cambodia to see the famous temples around Ankor Wat, Siem Reap? Of course I will.

So having just seen the Buddist Borobudur and Hindu Prambanan Temple in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, coupled with the many Hindu temples in the Angkor Watt area, the 2012 year will finish with hopefully me hot air ballooning over the remains of the 2,200 temples and pagodas that still survive to the present day around Bagan, Myanmar. Yes, I will be templed out!
