I thought I was ready to settle down for awhile, find a job and apartment, maybe even (gasp) a longterm boyfriend. It took me about three weeks before I decided that "real life" just wasn't for me, well not yet anyway. And from then on everything just sort of fell into place. My housing didn't work out. No one was hiring me. And then I stumbled upon the perfect teaching program in Costa Rica, and I had just enough time to apply before the cut off date. It was fate! I just knew that this would be my perfect next step. So here I go...to a mountain town of 500 people who just recently got telephone service. Almost no one speaks English and I don't really speak Spanish. But one thing's for sure, this is going to be one hell of a year!
