Leaving nine children home with Grandpa and Aunt Linda, Laura and Andrew set off for Scotland to research the novel Blue Bells of Scotland, currently in its final editing.

Blue Bells of Scotland is the story of two diametrically opposite look-alikes, Niall Campbell of 1314 and Shawn Kleiner of the present day, who fall asleep in a castle tower and wake up in each other's times.

Our original plan was to visit the places and hike the cross-country path that my characters take. Plans have had to be modified somewhat, and we are finding, the night before departure, that we may have to modify still more after arrival.

As of now, our things are packed, the kids are asleep, and arrangements are made for our trip to the airport.
