I did a tour of 'Essential China' with GAP Travel for three weeks to commence my round the world trip. There were 13 others on the trip, including our Chinese tour guide 'Charles'. Opinions of China? Well the toilets are pretty grim, nothing's for free, not even the toilet paper, they smoke EVERYWHERE, even in trains and this plus a great deal of pollution causes them to 'hawk up' in restaurants. I have never been stared at so much in my life! But it is the most interesting place I have ever been to and it's changing so fast that it wont be the same for long..
